I I'm very excited about your session with Keelan Walker Photography.  I look forward to working with you and your family.  My studio takes your session very seriously.  It’s your money and your time that is valuable to me and want to make it the best we possibly can.  I ask that you read over everything very carefully and answer the questionnaire at the bottom.  Our goal is to take time to create the perfect environment and session.  Each person is unique and we want to show that in your session.  Please take time to prepare for your session.  With busy schedules this isn’t always easy, but these are memories that you will have for a lifetime.  I ask that if you have read this email before, you take the time to check out the 2017 changes.  Thanks so much!
Keelan Walker Photography is not responsible for key individuals failure to appear on time or cooperate during photography sessions.  To get these desired images, a second appointment may have to scheduled.   Any baby between 6 months - 4 years unable to perform for their session will be rescheduled within 20 minutes of beginning the session.   This includes crying and screaming.  This does not count children that are not smiling.  Remember, this is documenting where they are at at this point in their life.  Unfortunately, there aren’t always smiles.  As much as we wish we could make them smile for every picture, we can’t.   This does not include newborn or three month sessions.  Please remember that we want children to LOVE having their pictures made.  It’s better to have 5 great images than 30 of them upset.  You know your children a lot better than I do, when they are finished, know they are finished.  Once they’ve been crying, it’s hard to get them calmed down.  Trust that I will be honest if I feel we need a redo or if I feel we have some great images to choose from.  If we schedule a make-up session, we will get them in as soon as possible.  We will do one outfit on that rescheduled date.

essions are Non-Refundable,fee is due at the time appointment is booked.  It is a non-refundable unless you request this at least 5 days after you have paid. After the 5 day period, a gift card or rescheduled appointment will be issued.Unless of a  Death in the family. Once you have paid for your session you have already invested into you session, and I begin planing.

RESCHEDULING/CANCELLATION

Emergencies and things happen and I  completely understand, however we ask that you give us 48 hours notice that you will not be able to make it to your schedule appointment.  In the event that a client should cancel appointment, the appointment must be rescheduled at the time of the cancellation to apply the sitting fee.

WEATHER, HEAT, AND LIGHT.  Alabama weather seems to be a little on the crazy side.  If you wish to have an outdoor session, we will leave it up to you to make the call whether you choose to reschedule because of rain or heat  I will do my  absolute best to accommodate if you choose to reschedule.  Remember, we want each session to be to be an amazing experience with a positive outcome.  We want to be honest with you about these things.  If it’s 90 degrees and you have sweat dripping off of you, these are not going to be flattering.

SICKNESS.  November - March is always the season for a lot of sickness.  Please if you or your child have a fever, stomach bug, or flu like symptoms we ask that you reschedule even if it’s in the 48 hour window.
REPOSTING FEE
WHAT IS A REPOSTING FEE?  Hadn’t ordered from your session in the 14 day period?  In order for these images to be reposted to our website, there is a fee.  As long as you order within the allotted amount of time, there is not a fee.
VERY IMPORTANT!  If a session is not ordered from within 30 days, these images will be discarded and cannot be retrieved.  You will not be able to book any additional appointment until the previous session has been ordered from.
Newborn~ What to expect
Our newborn day varies each week.  Depending upon the type of newborn session we plan, you will spend approximately 1-3 hours with us.  Once you arrive, we have a very special room just for you.  If your baby needs to nurse or feed we have a quiet, private room just for you  While we photograph your newborn, we ask you make yourself at home.  You can eat, sleep, talk, text, shop, or whatever you want to do to relax.  If only we had a spa for moms!  (maybe someday) We don’t mind to bottle feed them if they need to eat. Ashley and I work as a team to create the perfect, relaxed environment and session for you and your baby.  We want the studio to be your home away from home.  We move and transition between our simple beanbag poses, swaddles, to the creative, more proppy setups.  Want sibling or family?  We can do that as well as one of your setups.  Our studio allows us to capture your baby with natural light so it looks very home like and lifestyle and studio light to give you a variety of images to choose from.
We work extra hard to earn your trust and ensure your baby's safety with each pose.  Since their are two of us, there is always a hand on or near your baby.   Many of our poses are composited for the safety of your baby.   Over the years, we’ve developed several tricks and techniques to ensure a successful newborn session to the best of our ability.  We use one room for your session so your baby doesn’t come in contact with a lot of people where we use Lysol, Germ-X,  and paci-wipes.  Once your session is over we will schedule you a viewing session within the next week or so, and we will hopefully set you up for more appointments!  Then within 48 hours, you get a Facebook sneak peek of your adorable bundle of joy for all of your family and friends to see.

3-4 MONTHS
{What to Expect}

Honesty is the best policy, so we have to forewarn you, this session can be the toughest.  If you came for newborn, you spent quite a lengthy amount of time with us.  Unfortunately at this session, that won’t be the case.  Most 3-4 month olds last approximately 15-30 minutes and we get the best images in the first 5-10 minutes.  Don’t feel like you have a “bad baby”.  We’ve found that most ALL babies this age have these characteristics simply because most likely, you have recently gone back to work, and when your around your baby wants you!  They can’t sit up yet, but they don’t always like their belly, and their temperament is very short because they don’t want to be messed with.  Our goal is create the BEST session we possibly can for you and your baby.  We want you to be prepared for these things.  We have tips, suggestions, and what for you to expect that will hopefully make this session successful

  • Keep your baby on their regular schedule (waking up in the morning, naps, etc.) so they aren’t “off” schedule.
  • Prior to their session, we suggest that you do not practice tummy time or try to make them smile a whole bunch.  We don’t want to
    wear them out!
We kindly ask that mom or dad stay at distance at the beginning.  At this age, babies have not developed the “stranger danger” yet.  We want them to warm up to us.  If at anytime you would feel more comfortable close to your baby, we understand, but we promise they are in good hands.  We have found that most babies at this age do better for us if they don’t hear mom or dad’s voice because they want to be held.  If we feel we are not getting the best, we may ask that you come help.
  • Please stand directly behind Keelan(or the camera)  We want to make sure the baby is looking at the camera.  I promise, it will not bother us at all!  The lights, reflectors, and props are positioned to get the best lighting and we want your baby to make eye contact with the camera.
  • We move very quickly.  This isn’t us rushing, we just know we have a very short amount of time to get great images before we lose them.  Once we get those smiles or sweet faces, we move on.
  • If your baby has a toy or a rattle that makes them smile, please feel free to bring it!
  • K - I - S - S:    keep it simple sweetie!
  • As creative as we always try to be, this session is just simply not a great time for that.  We consider this a milestone session and work to get great images.  Trying to do creative things at this age is just HARD.  We promise, if you want creative, once your baby is sitting up we can accomplish that a little better, but we cannot do that at this one.  We like to keep it simple!

    {What to Wear}
We suggest you keep outfits simple.  While at newborn, we normally do everything without clothes, this session is fine to utilize their wardrobe!
Please look for clothing items and accessories that are:
  • tight fitting
  • little to no writing
  • comfortable
  • accessories that won’t have to be arranged or moved repeatedly
Might we suggest:
  • Rompers                     -    Leg Warmers
  • Ruffle Butts            -    Hats
  • Bow Ties                -    Stylish Onesies
  • Bows                    -    Simple/Comfortable Jeans or Shorts
  • Gowns

  • Try to arrange feeding times so your baby will eat about 15 minutes prior to their session.
  • Make a list of things that make them smile - you can email it to us!
  • Keep your baby on their regular schedule (waking up in the morning, naps, etc.) so they aren’t “off” schedule.
  • If your baby has a toy or a rattle that makes them smile, please feel free to bring it!
  • {What to Wear}
  • Anything really goes at this session!  The only thing I  ask is please avoid long-alls or outfits that button up the legs, as when they sit down, this will bunch around the diaper.  Make sure you bring a variety - make sure styles, patterns, colors, etc.  For example: avoid bringing 3 dresses for girls or all red for boys.
  • We LOVE accessories such as hats, ties, suspenders, bows, pearls!  Just know that most likely anything accessory may go straight to the mouth, so we may do some with and without.
Clothes need to fit appropriately - nothing too big and baggy.  Slightly tight is better.
Monogramming and pattern is great, please just no “logos”.

WILD CARD SESSION!  This could be a great session or it could not be!  You just never know!  Our goal is to do our very best to make it successful.  We ask that mom/dad to a majority of the moving and positioning the baby with our guidance, if they are clingy.  We do not want babies to be fearful or scared, but this tends to be the “stranger danger” age.  This is a great time to do family to help them get warmed up.  Hopefully these tips and suggestions will create a success!

  • Keep your baby on their regular schedule (waking up in the morning, naps, etc.) so they aren’t “off” schedule.
  • Make a list of everything that makes your baby smile, feel free to email it to us!
  • If you have a teething baby, please bring Tylenol or teething tablets.
  • We ask mom and dad stay close.  This is a great time for a family session!
  • We hurry up and wait at this session: we prepare and are ready to roll, but we wait until they are comfortable and warmed up.  Once we get it, we move quickly.
  • Please stand directly behind me  (or the camera)  We want to make sure the baby is looking at the camera.  I promise, it will not bother us at all!  The lights, reflectors, and props are positioned to get the best lighting and we want your baby to make eye contact with the camera.
  • Bring a comfort toy such as a rattle, or something you wouldn’t mind having in their pictures.
  • Most babies are crawling at this age, so be prepared for them to want you.  Please use discretion if you feel staying in the waiting room (out of sight, out of mind) might be best.
  • DO NOT give them cell phones or iPads if you want them to look at the camera!
Turning on music is perfectly fine, please just hide the electronic device from your baby.  These images end us as epic fails.  Please just use this as a VERY last resort!
  • The baby looks the wrong direction.
  • The devices ends up directly in front of the camera, so even if they look and stop crying, I can’t see them.
  • They don’t look up from the device.
  • OR when you take it away, they cry!

THE BIG O-N-E!
{What to Expect}

This is one of the most memorable sessions you will have at our studio.  This is something that will only happen once in your life with you little one and we want it to be so special!  From their outfits to their smash cake, we work to make it as easy as possible.  We want to have everything ready to roll when you arrive.  So please, please, please send us pictures and let us know what you are bringing.  Please keep in mind that One year olds are mobile, can still be very clingy, they are very aware of their surroundings, and they take time to warm up, but wear out quickly.  We move very quickly at this session.  We patiently wait for them to be ready and then we move on once we get it because we want them to last until their smash cake.  This is one of our most rescheduled sessions, so please follow all these tips and suggestions to make it successful.
DO NOT give them cell phones or iPads if you want them to look at the camera!

WE JAZZ IT UP!
BRing balloons that correspond with the colors of the decorations or cake.

  • Cake Stands
  • Our Own Prop Stash!
  • Please bring any banners or party supplies you wish.
  • Put the cake directly in front of them
  • If they don’t take a bite soon, give them a little “push” and I don’t mean face first!
  • Not every baby loves cake - so we fake it!
  • Let them explore their cake - avoid the word “No!”
  • Have them straddle their cake and stand
  • Once they are “sugared up” say and do things that make them clap, point, or laugh hysterically!
  • Avoid attention toward to the balloons
  • Don’t like them eat it all or they will more than likely puke
  • The shorter amount of time they sit still, they are closer to being done
  • Please sit beside the camera.  We ask that you try to stay stress-free.  The room cleans up, so let them make a mess.  The less we move them, touch them, or say no, the better they will do.
